De Kievit - Zundert Trappist (8.0%)

Trappistbrouwerij De Kievet is the newest certified Trappist brewery and the second one to bear the label of “Authentic Trappist Product” in the Netherlands. The Zundert Trappist is the only beer currently available from the brewery and is considered a Belgian Tripel in style. Pouring a deep amber colour, the aromas of black treacle, ginger, and oranges are complemented by a predictable Belgian yeastiness. Flavours of spice and sweet fruits are enhanced by a prickly carbonation and subtle bitterness. This Belgian Tripel would improve with age but is still very nice.
